Removing colour cast

I was finding it difficult to fix a persistent problem.

Colour cast!!

No matter how much I tried with, setting up White Balance, playing with different controls on Photoshop, learning from numerous video tutorial on Youtube.com, my photos never looked like that way it wanted to.

Typical conditions like indoor with light, in woods with dust and reddish colour cast spread during summers and greenish during monsoon, my white was never white.

Recently, I came across Remove Colour Cast - Step by Step

This indeed is very helpful. I have used the method for "white" dropper with "black" dropper as well (because in a few images, there was nothing white).

Few images showing dramatic changes are along with this post. Watch this space

I stumbled upon one more trick, this one a bit lengthy.
The results are good, here is the comparison.

Beautiful Khindsi

Few selected pictures from Khindsi\Ramtek.
The Khindsi lake is pretty close to Nagpur, perfect time to go would have been during monsoons.

The sun was blazing, temperatures above 43 degrees, not so good time.

The evening was gentle and calm and early morning tranquil is something I will miss in Nagpur.

And finally, a Panorama:

I FIXED YOUR PIC -The Original - Now 3 Years Old

A group of experts, fixing my mistakes, will that be nice ?!

Thats how I take it. But for me, its learning as well.
There are so many photographs, with sentimental value to me, but really badly pictured !

I came across a group in Flickr: FIX MY PIC -The Original ! - Now 3 Years Old !!!
And a sister group: I FIXED YOUR PIC -The Original ! - Now 3 Years Old !!!

Photoshop trick - LAB mode

Without strong colours, it tend to be difficult to make the photo lively.
So many of my photos have a standard, "only blue" and no activity sky.
Plus in India or China, we have sufficient dust and hue to spoil most of the landscape photos.

Default mode for Photoshop CS2, which I use is RGB.
Recently I checked LAB mode, specially for images that are not "vibrant".
Here are 2 photos, one enhanced with Photoshop CS2 in LAB mode.
I just played with the sliders and got a satisfactory effect.
