Tigers-Nagzira India

Known as Land of Tigers, India should do more to protect these maharaja of the jungle. The hunting and poaching was rampant and could have wiped out this animal from India. The danger still persists. Spotting a tiger in wild is rare. But there is ray of hope, these animals are making a stunning comeback in some parts of India. The only think they need from us : "Leave us alone"!
This two "cubs" spotted in Nagzira, now left by their mother to make their own territory. Soon these two will get seperated as well. Wishing both best luck

Another butterfly photo...

Finally, something from my brand new 70-200 F4 L (non IS).
This one was shot in RAW and was exported as is via Lightroom, so is it SOOC?

I am happy with the performance of this lens so far, have used it only for 45 minutes yesterday though.
The colors are good, specially green. Sharp and spot on at F4

I hope I got the name right.
Shot in the wild, in natural habitat in Nagzira.

Can you spot the tigress ??

Old photo, SOOC.
I spotted this tigress when I was roaming around (aka Safari) in the jungles of Nagzira with my friends. :D
We passed this area several time, but could not spot this. This was a hilly area and we were below on the road. All of a sudden, one of us spotted this tigress along with her cub(not in this shot)
It was so difficult to keep focus, I wonder how my friend spotted it in first place.
This was a hill and we were in the middle of this tigress and cub, towards the peak and a Indian sloth beer down the foot this hill.
It is always fascinating to see these animals in wild, in their natural habitat.

Old shot, but this was the story that time. Monsoon was overdue.

This was on my way back from Mahabaleshwar to Wai.
Last few landscape shots and I learned a few things that hard way(more than 95% usless photos):
1. The Canon 18-55 (non IS) kit lens is poor. Just avoid it. I have heard good things about the IS version though.
2. Try for Manual exposure. Chances of success are much higher than relying on Aperture priority+metering mode
3. Dont trust LCD on the back of camera for photo, always keep Histogram on.
4. 18 mm is not at all sufficient.

I dont think I am going to visit such good landscapes for a while now, so I guess, best thing would be to prepare for the next time.
