This picture is from the initial fighting between to male Koel birds.
This picture is one from the series of pictures I was able to take during territorial fight, which I witnessed over Saturday.
All though I am not sure who was the original resident bird, but the left one did surely loose.
When the left male Asian Koel bird was fighting, I could see the other larger male dominating slowly and cornering the relatively smaller one.
In fact the one on the left, collapsed after 20 mins. of fight, barely able to grab the branch on the way down.
It was stressed out and must have gone through lot trauma but I don’t know why exactly its beak had such color (did he made more injuries to other bird).
My knowledge about birds is very limited, so that all I can observe and conclude.
The victorious bird, did gave a few gestures of victory when it was over.
